Meditation is a journey to the center of our very being;

It has been said that if prayer is speaking to God, meditation is listening. For thousands of years, the seemingly passive process of “just sitting” has brought people from all walks of life greater freedom, joy, and overall well-being. Every religious tradition since time immemorial has embraced some form of contemplative practice, and now even modern scientists go on meditation retreats to improve cognitive and emotional skills.

Contrary to popular belief, meditation isn’t just for monks and yogis. Meditation is one of the most powerful spiritual technologies known to humankind, and this simple practice can absolutely transform your life.


spiralAs many studies show, a regular meditation practice offers numerous health benefits, including lowering blood pressure, strengthening the immune system, and releasing stress and fatigue. In fact, meditating for half an hour provides more psychological rest than a full night’s sleep. As you meditate on a regular basis, you will notice an increased sense of well-being as well as greater energy and creativity.

Today, doctors are increasingly citing stress as a major contributing factor to most illnesses. Even though meditation should not be considered a cure by itself, research has shown it to be beneficial for a wide range of health problems. As stress is greatly eliminated through the practice of meditation, our minds and bodies begin to function with maximum effectiveness, creating health, vitality, and happiness.

Meditation is derived from the ancient Vedic traditions of India and has been passed down through Vedic Masters from generation to generation for thousands of years. It is a practice of cultivating stillness and silence, and of transcending mental activity that keeps us from accessing our highest self. Meditation asks us to meditationconsider questions like, “Who am I? What do I want? What is my dharma?” In deep contemplation, we plant these questions like seeds at the level of our soul. We then live the answers. Many great teachers have described meditation as a practice of befriending oneself. With practice, we learn to observe our thoughts without judgment, to see beneath the veil that so often clouds the light within. In this space of heart-centered restful awareness, we become more a witness to our thoughts than a slave to them. Meditation allows us to tap into a deeper, more expansive part of ourselves that perhaps we never knew existed. Learning to cultivate a daily meditation practice will help you let go of stress and enter a state of deep restful awareness. Over time, you will find the sense of inner tranquility that extends well beyond your meditation practice and into your daily life.


Meditation is relatively simple enough as a practice in and of itself. Being guided through a meditation is one thing. Learning to meditate is another thing entirely. You need a meditation coach, someone to mentor you in the art of sitting, because there are innumerable variables that can (and will) come up. And, those are precisely the things that will negotiate you away from your meditation practice.

Most people think that meditation is about stopping their thoughts. Not true. Meditation is about cultivating a level of stillness and silence that enables you to transcend your thoughts. Very different things entirely. So, what happens to the meditator who sits and for 2 straight minutes can’t silence their thoughts? THEY QUIT!

Just like a business, meditation_mentoring_image2fitness or nutrition coach, as your meditation mentor, my promise is not just to teach you how to meditate, but to help you take your practice to a deeper level; to help you understand, integrate and release whatever physical, emotional and mental blocks you encounter as a result of going deeper within.

While meditation is heralded for its myriad benefits, they do not come without making the practice an integral part of each and every day. Crisis meditators (those who only meditate or pray during crisis) will not find the golden pot at the end of the rainbow any more than someone who exercises once a month, or eats a salad on occasion.

Add to that the meditator who doesn’t understand why they are falling asleep every time they meditate, why it is that they’re having more thoughts and heightened emotions when they sit, or what is behind the subtle shifts in sensory perception (taste, touch, sight, sound and smell). These things, and more, are part of the meditator’s journey; each of them being a stone upon the path of dharma (Sanskrit word for purpose in life) and, in some cases, an act of transmuting karma (Sanskrit word for past action).

As someone who is steeped in the ancient Vedic tradition of meditation and brilliantly certified as a Vedic Master Educator by Deepak Chopra, I am able to not only teach you how to meditate, but to guide and mentor you in using meditation as a tool to create the life of happiness, emotional freedom, fulfillment and joy that you so crave.

Without a mentor or guide, none of us would get anywhere in life. The new paradigm calls upon each of us to share our unique talents, our special gifts and our knowledge with one another so that we can all continue to illuminate the path for others. That is my promise to you.
